ELIXHER, an award-winning online destination for Black lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer women, is proud to celebrate the launch of ELIXHER Magazine, a new digital platform for smart, uplifting and authentic content. The magazine’s spring cover girl, AzMarie of America’s Next Top Model and the Logo series DTLA, will make a special guest appearance at the DC launch event, Saturday, March 30, 10 p.m. – 3 a.m., at Tabaq, 1336 U Street NW, Washington, D.C.

“AzMarie embodies the unapologetic confidence of the ELIXHER reader,” says Kimberley McLeod, ELIXHER founder and editor-in-chief. “It was a no-brainer for her to be on the cover of our inaugural issue. She’s a go-getter, extremely talented and has an amazing sense of self. We’re honored and excited to have her at our DC launch event.”

The ELIXHER DC launch will also serve as a celebration of the publication’s 2-year anniversary. Since 2011, ELIXHER has served as a virtual hub for Black LBTQ women. The site has become a staple for smart, empowering and authentic news, commentary and more. By spotlighting phenomenal women in the Black LBTQ community and celebrating two-mommy families, ELIXHER has brought the world closer to recognizing our magic and multifacetedness.

Proceeds from the event will go towards ELIXHER’s Indiegogo fundraising campaign. Funds raised from the campaign will also go towards expanding ELIXHER mixers to cities like Atlanta, Chicago and Oakland as well as supporting overhead costs like graphic design fees and compensating the editorial and marketing team.

For a $15 donation, guests will enjoy music by DJ Mursi Layne, one of New York City’s hottest female deejays to grace the ones and twos. For a $30 donation, patrons will enjoy exclusive access to celebrity guest AzMarie in the VIP lounge. There will be numerous raffles and giveaways throughout the night. Attendees will also have the opportunity to stock up on their ELIXHER merchandise.

ELIXHER DC Host Committee members include community organizer Nikisha Carpenter; Jessica Rucker, co-creator of freakOUT; Aisha and Danielle Moodie-Mills, creators, threeLOL.com; and Jade Foster, founder, The Revival Poetry Tour.
