This week, Justin Semien released the extended trailer to his popular upcoming film Dear White People. The film, which will hit theaters on October 17 is a racial satire that chronicles a college student and her friends while she exposes racism on her campus via her school’s radio show. The movie stars Tessa Thompson, who also starred in For Colored Girls and When A Stranger Calls.

Lena Waithe, a queer writer and producer, who we have profiled before is a producer of this film. She’s also currently working on her new upcoming pilot, Twenties for BET.
