Model and Actress AzMarie to Star in FOX Drama Empire

Earlier this year, we reported that actress Taraji Henson will play the mom of a gay son in Lee Daniels’ Empire. The hip hop/family drama series is set up at FOX for a 2015 debut. Imagine our excitement when out model and actress tweeted and Instagramed that she’ll be joining the cast and playing the part of Chicken. We can’t wait to hear more about this role!

AzMarie graced the cover of the inaugural issue of ELIXHER Magazine. Child star Raven-Symoné recently confirmed their relationship in an interview with Oprah.

Angel Haze and Nick Jonas Team Up for “Numb”

Actress Laverne Cox to Light Empire State Building

On behalf of GLAAD and Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER), Emmy-nominated actress and transgender advocate Laverne Cox will light the iconic Empire State Building in purple on October 16, 2014, in recognition of Spirit Day and National Bullying Prevention Month.

Cox will be joined by GLAAD and youth featured in the new documentary Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word, which will premiere on MTV and Logo TV on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 7pm ET/PT.

Laverne Cox Appears on MTV’s Faking It

This Tuesday, October 14 at 10:30 p.m. ET, transgender actress Laverne Cox will appear on the MTV series Faking It. Fans got a preview of Cox’s role on her Instagram where the star posted: “Are you ready to see me on @mtv_fakingit Tuesday night. I play a very intense high school drama teacher. And I got to wear all white.” We can’t wait to see her shine. Tune in!

Faking It is a romantic comedy series where best friends Amy and Karma struggle with figuring out their relationship after Amy revealed her true feelings for Karma.

Ellen and Wanda Sykes Spoof Scandal

If you’ve been tuning into Scandal this season, you know that TV host Ellen DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi joined the cast of the ABC drama. Funny gal Ellen teamed up with out comedian Wanda Sykes to spoof the show. What do you think of their skit?
