Queer Women Poetry Tour, THE REVIVAL, Hosts Benefit Concert
On Thursday, November 7, sold out tour, THE REVIVAL, will step out of the living room for Testimony, a night of music and storytelling with Cave Canem fellow, Angel Nafis, queer pop sensation, Be Steadwell, acoustic folk artists SolRose, and the New York City premiere of D.C.-based powerhouse duo, BOOMscat!
The literary arts organization aims to raise $15,000 to complete their documentary film, Women and The Word: The Revival Movie, and this group of dedicated queer women are more than halfway there. After a sold out international tour in 2012, this year, audiences can expect women, wine, and more than just words, as they now have have the opportunity to tell their own stories in this interactive event.
“Raising the money is easy,” said Jade Foster, founder of THE REVIVAL. “What this campaign is really declaring is that queer women are interested in more than just cruises, parties, and politics. It’s marking our place in the arts. We’re taking poetry out of the hands of the powers that be, and sharing it with the people.”
Testimony will be held on Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at Cup Center 1071 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Show starts at 7:30pm. Advanced tickets are available at therevivaltestimony.eventbrite.com.

Wish I would’ve known about this sooner and I would’ve definitely attended. Is there a way to be on a mailing list for these events? Although I can’t make it this year, I’d love to go next year but need to know more in advance.
