Sun., Jun. 3: The Flock 2012, “Arts Party on the Plaza” (New York City)
In New York, summer is the season for community gatherings and inexpensive engagements with the arts. With this in mind, F.O.K.U.S. and Soul of Brooklyn created an afternoon space for artists and creative minds under the sun in Clinton Hill. Live music, art exhibitions, and workshops will be available for people of all ages. DJ Lynnee Denise, an African house specialist, will be providing the musical soundtrack for the event, in addition to a live performance by dancer Sophia Urista.
New Yorkers are invited to peruse artwork, watch performances, shop for various goods, support small local businesses and participate in creative workshops. Fifteen vendors/ artists/educators will set up shop for one day only, providing a space for anyone, children and adults, to experience a variety of artwork in one space. The Flock focuses on supporting the creative small business models that have become characteristic of Brooklyn through its collaboration with the FAB (Fulton Area Business Alliance) and Sacred Brooklyn Yoga and Movement Studio. Join your neighbors for an afternoon of music, dancing, crafting, and celebrating art in its many forms!
