Tagg Mag Profiles ‘Between Women’ Star Tajir Hawkins
Between Women follows a group of Black lesbians in Atlanta. Despite some backlash, the online series has developed a more-than-impressive following. They’ve entertained us, they’ve engaged us and, in some cases, they’ve enraged us. But one thing is for certain, they’ve had many of us hooked since the beginning.
DC-based lesbian publication, Tagg magazine, recently caught up with Tajir Hawkins, a star of the popular web series. The DC-native plays Mecca, an up-and-coming producer and a bona fide Casanova with the ladies. Her many romances catch up with her, but not before one special woman works her way into Mecca’s heart.
Check out some of what she had to say below:
TAGG: In a few words, how would you describe yourself?
TAJIR: This is one of the hardest questions I’ve ever had to answer. When I think of “Who Tajir is…”, I see myself as an energetic, driven, fun-loving individual.
TAGG: Your favorite hangout spots.
TAJIR: I love the beach! I love standing in the water, mud and sand between my toes, listening to the wind. There is a certain peace that comes with it. That feeling must be what Heaven is all about.
TAGG: Any fun facts or anything else you want our readers to know?
TAJIR: Don’t laugh, but when I am alone in an elevator I pop-lock. It is something that I always do, and I’m not that good at it. When I get to my desired floor, I finish my performance, turn and wave at the security cameras, and exit the elevator.
