The Planet Connection Festivity Presents: “Fishin’ In Brooklyn

In need of a summer theatre excursion featuring black, female artists? Make a trek to Bleecker Theatre for LaTonia Phipps’s “Fishin’ in Brooklyn,” a one-woman infusion of slam poetry, african drums, dance, and song. Phipps portrays 27 different characters during the semi-autobiographical show, which follows a young performer struggling to write her first novel, when the spirit of her late mother reappears to inspire her. Proceeds from the show will benefit The Rock Church in Manhattan.
