Gay CNN Anchor Sees Risk in Book
“I think it would be great if everybody could be out,” he said. “But it’s such a personal choice. People have to do it at their own speed. I respect that. I do have to say that the more people who come out, the better it is for everyone, certainly for the Tyler Clementis of the world.”
Mr. Clementi was the Rutgers student who committed suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge after his sexual encounter with a man in his dorm room was shown on the Internet.
“I think if I had seen more people like me who are out and proud, it wouldn’t have taken me 45 years to say it,” Mr. Lemon said, “to walk in the truth.”
Barkley Is a ‘Role Model’ When It Comes to Gay Rights
“If somebody is gay, that’s their own business,” Barkley said in an interview on Sirius XM Radio. “But it bothers me how people try to say that jocks are not going to like a gay…. I think gay people should be allowed to get married and God bless them, that’s their own business. Listen, if a guy can’t play that’s the only time we don’t want to play with him. We don’t care about all that extracurricular stuff.”

GLSEN and the NBA have released their Think B4 You Speak PSA featuring Phoenix Suns Grant Hill and Jared Dudley. It’s fun, hip, light and seems to strike the perfect tone for reaching teenagers. Plus, instead of couching the issue inside the broader issue of bullying or name-calling, it speaks directly about homophobia. Very cool of them to come together to do this.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth sent a series of messages from his Twitter account to support gay rights and same sex marriage, as well as criticize anti-gay politicians.
