Virginia Police Searching For Transgender Teen

Police in Virginia are searching for a transgender teen who has been missing for more than a week. Dashad Smith, 19, also known as Sage, Sagey and Unique, was last seen Nov. 20, in the 500 block of West Main Street in Charlottesville. Smith was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark-gray sweatpants, a black scarf and gray boots, police said. Smith was supposed to meeting a man for a date on the evening she disappeared, her father, Dean Smith, told The Huffington Post.

Clinton Unveils ‘Blueprint’ to Achieve ‘AIDS-free Generation’

The Obama administration unveiled on Thursday a “blueprint” for confronting the global AIDS epidemic that includes as one of its goals targeting populations that are most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS — including men who have sex with men. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton touted the plan during a ceremony at the State Department as a tool to achieve the vision of an “AIDS-free generation” that she previously articulated a year ago.

Clinton Reaffirms Commitment to LGBT Equality, But Mum on Uganda’s Anti-Gay Bill

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton reaffirmed her commitment to increasing acceptance of LGBT people around the world during a speech at the State Department today, but remained silent on concerns that continue to mount regarding an anti-gay bill in Uganda. Addressing a group of about 200 people celebrating the 20th anniversary of the founding of Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies (GLIFAA), Clinton said achieving equality for LGBT people in the U.S. and abroad was a mission she gladly assumed.
