Mary’s House announces its second annual Old School Dance Party, Saturday, May 24th from 3-8PM. Great soul food, drinks, door prizes and music for all ages. All ticket and cash bar sales benefit the building of Mary’s House for Older Adults, Inc., a first of its kind affordable housing for LGBT older adults in Washington, D.C.
The 2013 Old School Dance Party brought over 100 members of the community with youth as young as 21 and older adults as old as 75 together for a joyous multigenerational celebration for a good cause. The DJ Tony Covey played music from the Whispers, Michael Jackson, Evelyn King and Marvin Gaye and of course we had that SOUL TRAIN line.
This year’s dance party will feature the first Annual Celebration of Life Award, given to acknowledge and celebrate the life of an individual who has been instrumental in decreasing social isolation for and has been a constant presence in the lives of other LGBT older adults.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door if available.
