‘Free CeCe’ Documentary Fundraiser Campaign Nears End
By Glennisha Morgan
Free CeCe, the feature length documentary about CeCe McDonald, who pleaded guilty to an accidental stabbing death charge, after being attacked and called a myriad of racial, homophobic and transphobic slurs, is in need of funding. The makers of the film created an Indiegogo fundraiser and there’s currently only almost one day left to donate. They’re $8,500 shy of their goal.
The film features an in-prison interview with McDonald by transgender activist and Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox, interviews with McDonald’s supporters, the release of McDonald from the St. Cloud Correctional Facility and more.
