Screenwriter and director, JD Walker needs our help to bring The Postwoman to the big screen. The Postwoman is a heartfelt dramatic love story that seeks to humanize women of color who are raising healthy children regardless of their gender, race, or sexuality. The script has quite a number of praises under its belt, among these, winning the award for ‘The Best Short’ at the PDX African American Film Fest.

TransParent: A Story of Loss in a Community Misunderstood
In this docu-film directed by dream hampton, the life Shelly “Treasure” Hilliard, a transgender 19-year-old girl, who was brutally murdered in 2011, is not only remembered but reinforced. Yes, TransParent is a film about Shelly’s murder and yes, it places a critical eye on the injustice that plagues LGBTQ crime, but more importantly, TransParent is the tale of a mother who honors and copes with the loss of a child so beloved. The film is produced by Natasha ‘T’ Miller, who has been previously profiled in ELIXHER’s InspiHered By column.

Entangled With You
Entangled with You is a romantic drama-comedy series about couples who complicate each other’s lives post separation. The web-series follows the lives of two new roommates, one a lesbian writer and the other a perky straight woman, who are each riding emotional roller-coasters with their respective significant others. The series debuted a mere two months ago and it is already a smash hit, earning five awards for ‘Outstanding Performance in a Dramedy.’

Bring “Thingification: A One-Woman Show” to NYC

Multi-disciplinary artist, poet, scholar, and performer Duriel E. Harris wants to bring her one-woman act to the Big Apple. The performance combines poetry, music, and dance in a collective ritual to rebel against “thingification” – the annihilating objectifying force at the core of all oppressions.
